Work as we now know it...
So, this was day two for the Interaction team as we change the way we work in light of COVID-19. It’s an odd time at the moment, everything feels ‘on-hold’. Quite rightly some of our clients have postponed their face to face training courses for the next few months.
At Interaction we have the advantage of being able to work from home, and we will now for the foreseeable future. It could feel quite lonely, but it doesn’t and I was ruminating about why that was.
This was our first attempt at a virtual team meeting, with guest appearance from Whistle the cat, providing a bit of light entertainment. A sense of humour in these times helps!
The enthusiasm for innovation and ‘just having a go’ at doing things differently is infectious. It’s ok to get it ‘wrong’ - we will try again. We are working together towards the same goal.
Things are changing and evolving daily and we are too. We’re experimenting with different forms of communication - one platform to specifically use for work related chat and video calls, and another for a daily team update and social chats. It feels like an extended family. Mandi in the team shared yesterday that her husband (working at home too now) told her after seeing us working together over video that “he's never experienced so much morale in a work environment!!”
We talk about organisational resilience a lot in our courses and we are now living proof that the culture we have created at Interaction lives those values, and we will be resilient and change for the better. I hope you are all able to stay resilient – we are here to keep the conversation going if you want to get in touch. (even with an added cat or two!).
