All the fun of an event with all the comforts of home

Penguins. Talent Forum

For those of us in the L&D world a huge part of the job, and one of the many reasons we love what we do, is the ability to get together with others and exchange ideas, viewpoints, experiences and perspectives.

We travel the length and breadth of the country to talk to interesting and insightful people about what they’ve done within their organisations and how it worked.

In a year that is running a bit low on positives, what if I told you that you can still experience all of the great parts of a learning and development event without having to leave the comfort of your own home?!

Interaction L&D launched its first completely virtual Talent Forum on Friday 20 November, and it was a huge success!

With attendees from diverse organisations – including law firms, charities, utilities and the public sector – through an agenda of short and impactful presentations from L&D and HR professionals within a wide variety of businesses and organisations, we discussed topics including: introducing new leadership models, responses to Covid-19, the ‘Kickstart’ scheme, and successful strategies for creating engaging virtual content. Recognising the strain on people’s resilience during the second national lockdown, we even took time out for a mindful moment.

Don’t just take my word for it. Here’s what some of our participants had to say:

I found the virtual Talent Forum really engaging on Friday and came away from each session with useful ‘nuggets’!”

“After having attended three live events before and found them immensely valuable, I had no hesitation in attending the first virtual one; I was, however, unsure how it would work. But, as always, it exceeded all my expectations! I can’t wait for the next one!!”

“The presentations were very different and extremely interesting and engaging. I was always surprised when the time for Q&A arrived in every session, as it felt like the presenter had only been talking for a few seconds!”

If you’re an L&D/HR professional, our next event will be held on 5 February via Zoom and, with the uncertainty that 2021 brings, make sure that you don’t miss out!
