WHY CHANGE NEEDS TO CHANGE

“The only constant in life is change.” never a truer word said in today’s modern world despite this line originating in Greek philosophy. In fact, the rate and pace of change is spiralling in ways that despite creating large scale opportunities, also lead to huge pressures.

So, what better focus for one of our employer-led Talent Forums to focus on ‘all things change’ through the lens of organisations and the world of L&D.

Our resident change management experts Emma Calvert and Matt Frost expertly guided us through the session with a focus on the many benefits of human centred change. The issue is that often the ‘human’ element gets lost amidst all the noise and the change itself. But how can you hope to bring people with you if you don’t give enough time, attention and scope for involvement to the very people involved?

‘Co-creation’ was discussed as a positive approach to change. I couldn’t agree more. At Interaction we co-create with clients and, as a people-centred and Employee Owned business, we operate in this way as a team.

As chance would have it, we are looking at a period of significant change for us as a business over the next few months. But have we built in enough co-creation around change? Makes you think doesn’t it? ……

More to come on this …. but all that’s left to say is, you can’t hold back change, but you can definitely approach it in the right way.

I was very grateful for the opportunity to attend the Talent Forum’s event ‘Change & Transformation’ which was very timely as my team, and organisation, is currently going through a period of significant change. The session reminded me of some key tools and processes which allowed me to apply the learnings from the session almost immediately. I am appreciative more broadly for the Talent Forum as it provides me with a network of fantastic L&D professionals, who have been source of consistent support for the last 5 years.” - Alex Bamsey - Talent Forum member

The session was thought-provoking, with credible and passionate speakers who made the experience engaging and insightful. The breakout sessions were a great way to connect with others and have lively discussions. I left feeling energised and inspired by a more human-centred approach to change — something I can now apply in my day-to-day roleYogita Johnston, Product Development Manager, EOA
